Call to Prayer ...

Please pray for the following prayer needs this week:

1. Pray for the people of Burma (Myanmar) as they continue to reel from the devastating cyclone and tidal wave that affected parts of their county last weekend. The death toll may reach as high as 100,000 with over one million homeless. Pray for Salvationists and disaster teams who are seeking to bring aid to the victims of this terrible disaster.

2. Pray for President and Mrs. Bush as they travel to Israel, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, asking God to protect them throughout the trip. Give thanks for the contribution and leadership of the President and pray that God will intervene and bless each of these visits. Pray also for the people of Israel as they celebrate the 60th anniversary of their founding as a state.

3. As the nation pauses to celebrate Mother’s Day, give thanks and praise to God for the influence of godly mothers in our country. Pray for mothers who struggle physically, materially or spiritually asking God to bring to their lives exactly what they need to be healed, provided for, encouraged and blessed by God. Pray for young mothers to influence their children to love and honor God, and pray that they will rely on scriptures to guide them.

4. Give thanks for the great contributions of our nation’s brave military personnel, asking God to cover each one with His mighty protection and care and that God will honor and bless their families for the significant sacrifices they make to bring peace to the world,.

5. Pray for the three leaders who seek the office of President. May God put His hand on each candidate and their families and may His blessing and guidance be on every voter that God’s man or women shall be chosen to lead our country.

6. Pray for our leaders: General Shaw Clifton, Commissioner Helen Clifton, Commissioners Israel and Eva Gaither, Commissioners Philip and Pat Swyers, Lt. Colonels Don and Debi Bell, the THQ Cabinet and staff, and for Lt. Colonels William and Susan Harfoot,

7. Bless those officers who will be retiring from active service in the next few months and for those officers who have and will be receiving new appointments in the Territory and the world. May God Bless the Salvation Army with renewed faith and vision for the future!

8. Pray that innocent children who live in troubled parts of the world will be kept safe from harm and loved. And pray for the victims of human trafficking who need our care and rescue efforts.

9. Pray for the following who are in need our prayers: Pray for Captain Tracie Hartt, who is facing throat surgery this week, for Major Pearl Markham broken bones from a fall, for Major Shirley Goode, knee replacement surgery, for Major Sherry McWhorter who has not been well since her surgery, healing for Sue’s daughter, Beth, suffering from Lupas and neck problems, for James, the grandson of Ed Wycoff, personal needs, for the Armstrong family of Billings who recently lost their home in a fire and son who drowned. Pray for Rev Sonnenberg, of Las Vegas, scheduled for eye surgery on May 19t,, for A/Captain Elsie Lantz, knee replacement, for for Major Hal Hads who has been in hospital for treatment of a blood problem, for Major Carol Forney who had surgery on April 29, for Mrs. Major Manuela Garza who is on kidney dialysis. Pray for Debbie’s health and for her sister, Wendy with cancer, and for her daughter, Jenna, who needs a kidney transplant, and for her mother, surgery for kidney stones.

10. Pray for Commissioner Keitha Needham, a foot injury, for 8 month old Jayce Matthew Smith, grandson of Captain Les Spousta, surgery on May 13 to remove a cyst on the tip of his tongue, for Major Jim Rodal in hospital following an injury at home, for Yvonne, recovering from hip fracture, Sgt. Damian Taylor, for Gary Clark, for Mimi. Pray for Millie Corliss, Sherryle Morasky, for Donald and Mary Morrell, for Robin Bailey, Barbara Garrison, Sharon’s son, Eric, for Captain Dana Johnson, for Jake, Susie and Pat. Pray for Major Charles and Myrtle Griffin, Majors Don and Pearl Pack. Pray for Brigadier Ben Nunes, Brigadier Margaret Laverty, for Major Hazel Irby, for Major Martha Hansen, and other retired officers who have not been well. For Corps and ARCs in need of funds to expand their ministries.

11. Pray those being treated for cancer: Major Max Garza, lung cancer, Dale Hill Jr. brain tumor. Pray for Dean Steriotis, recovering from brain tumor surgery. Pray for Major Max Garza diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Pray for Colonel Diane Hogan, for David, Karen Imai, Eileen O'Brien, Major Bill Dickinson, Jacob Galland, Pray For Lt. Colonel April Strickland, Major Sheila Bradley, Mrs. Captain Sylvia Waldron, for Captain Diane McEaneney, Dick Youngworth, Sue Ellen's Mom, for Dick Wiseman, Major Dallas Pedersen, and others. Pray for renewed faith and many healing miracles!

12. Pray for the families of those recently Promoted to Glory including: Valerie Bubnash our Southwest Prayer Coordinator, whose mother was Promoted to Glory on Wednesday, for Captain Kongmas, Phrasavath and family in the passing of her father, for the family of CSM Charlene Boleau of Mesa in the passing of her husband, Ray, after a debilitating illness, for Lt. Colonel Susan Harfoot in the Promotion to Glory of her father, Major Kenneth Stange May God bring His comforting presence to each family member and loved one.
